On Tuesday 1 August 2023, BPS Bengkulu Province again released the latest strategic indicators, including those related to the 2022 Gender Inequality Index (IKG), Development of the July 2023 Consumer Price Index, Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels, Farmer Exchange Rates and Import Exports.
The Gender Inequality Index (IKG) in 2022 is 0.478, down 0.042 points compared to 2021 which was 0.520. This improvement is influenced by equality of achievement in the dimensions of reproductive health and empowerment. Improvements in the reproductive health dimension are influenced by improvements in the indicator of women giving birth live without being in a health facility, which fell from 23.2 percent in 2021 to 12.1 percent in 2022. Meanwhile improvements in the empowerment dimension are influenced by improvements in the indicator of the percentage of women 25 years and over who have a high school education. and above increased higher than men. The percentage of women increased from 37.43 percent in 2021 to 38.72 percent, while the percentage of men increased from 41.64 percent to 42.62 percent in 2022.
Meanwhile, in July 2023, Bengkulu City's year on year (yoy) inflation was 3.23 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 115.54. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Merauke at 5.21 percent with a CPI of 116.10, while the lowest occurred in Gunungsitoli at 0.50 percent with a CPI of 116.28.
Meanwhile, the Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) for Bengkulu Province in July 2023 was 143.73 or an increase of 1.11 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (IT) increasing by 1.51 percent, greater than the increase in the Price Index What Farmers Pay (Ib) is 0.40 percent.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star hotels in Bengkulu Province in June 2023 was recorded at 47.35 percent, an increase of 2.07 points compared to the TPK for star hotels in May 2023 which was recorded at 45.28 percent. When compared with the same month in 2022, the ROR for star hotels increased by 7.68 points.
Bengkulu Province's total exports in June 2023 reached US$ 22.82 million.
