Data produced by BPS has a very important role in development in Indonesia. One of the data or indicators produced by BPS is the price index. BPS as a data provider has produced price indices at various levels and calculation scopes, such as the Producer Price Index, Wholesale Price Index and Consumer Price Index. The Price Index is able to provide information regarding changes in economic conditions to the government, business and enterprise sectors, labor and society, so that it can be used as a basis for guidance in making economic decisions.
Inflation data calculated by BPS provides an important role for various parties, including: for the government, inflation data is used as the main indicator in the Basic Macroeconomic Assumptions (ADEM) which is a reference for the government in preparing various components of the APBN posture. Meanwhile, for Bank Indonesia, inflation is used as the main indicator in various monetary policies. Meanwhile, for business actors, inflation is used early on from the upstream side in a series of business activities.
