According to the results of the 2023 BPS National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), the estimated percentage of youth is 23.18 percent or almost a quarter of the Indonesian population.
In 2023, there will be almost no youth who cannot read and write. Around 29 out of 100 youth are recorded as attending school, with the School Participation Rate (APS) in the 16-18 age group, 19-24 years and 25-30 years of 73.42 percent, 26.85 percent and 5.70 percent respectively.
Based on the level of education completed, 11.25 percent of young people completed their education up to university level, 40.01 percent completed high school/equivalent, 35.96 percent completed junior high school/equivalent, and around 10.31 percent of young people only completed elementary school/equivalent, and the rest did not complete elementary school or had never attended school.
