In May 2024, Bengkulu Province's year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation was 3.71 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 106.76. Bengkulu City's y-on-y inflation was 3.61 percent with a CPI of 106.70, and Muko Muko Regency's y-on-y inflation was 4.01 percent with a CPI of 106.95.
The y-on-y inflation in Bengkulu Province occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most of the expenditure group price indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 7.88 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.96 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 1.40 percent; health group by 0.84 percent; transportation group by 2.75 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 2.75 percent; education group by 1.44 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.48 percent; and personal care and other services group by 4.06 percent.
Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: information, communication, and financial services group by 0.44 percent. Meanwhile, the household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group tended to be stable.
