Bengkulu Province again experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation in September 2024 of 0.28 percent. The commodities that predominantly contributed to m-to-m deflation in September 2024 included: red chilies, gasoline, tomatoes, cayenne pepper, chicken eggs, carrots, pet food, fresh shrimp, white cabbage, and oranges. This was conveyed by the Head of the BPS of Bengkulu Province, Win Rizal, in the release of the Official Statistics News of Bengkulu Province, Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
Meanwhile, Bengkulu Province's total exports in August 2024 reached US$ 14.05 million. Bengkulu Province's exports in August 2024 to ASEAN countries were recorded at US$ 6.82 million (48.55 percent), and other countries were recorded at US$ 7.23 million (51.45 percent).
According to the main export destination countries, Bengkulu Province's largest exports in August 2024 were to Vietnam at US$ 5.91 million (42.10 percent), China at US$ 4.07 million (28.99 percent), India at US$ 2.60 million (18.50 percent), Malaysia at US$ 0.90 million (6.41 percent), the United States at US$ 0.38 million (2.71 percent), Mexico at US$ 0.17 million (1.23 percent) and other countries at US$ 7.92 thousand (0.06 percent).
The commodities exported to Vietnam in August 2024 were coal; to China were coal, rubber and other postal packages; India, namely coal and other postal packages, Malaysia, namely coal and other postal packages; United States, namely rubber and other postal packages; Mexico, namely rubber and other postal packages. While the commodities exported to other countries are leeches, insects, natural gravel and other postal packages.
