BENGKULU ECONOMY GROWS AND OPEN UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DECREASES

The Central Statistics Agency of Bengkulu Province conducted a press release of the Official Statistics News (BRS) on November 5, 2024. In this BRS, BPS Bengkulu Province conveyed information related to economic growth and employment indicators.

Bengkulu's economy in the third quarter of 2024 grew by 4.57 percent when compared to the same quarter in 2023 (yoy). The highest growth occurred in the Accommodation and Food and Beverage Provision business sector which grew by 9.66 percent. Meanwhile, the Agriculture business sector, which has a dominant role in Bengkulu's GRDP, grew by 1.64 percent.

The open unemployment rate in Bengkulu Province decreased by 0.31 points from 3.42 percent in August 2023 to 3.11 percent in August 2024. The proportion of full-time workers decreased compared to August 2023, while the proportion of part-time workers and semi-unemployed increased.

The press release activity of the BRS BPS Bengkulu Province was attended by the Assistant for Economic and Development of the Bengkulu Provincial Secretariat, Mr. H. R.A. Denni, SH., MM.
