December 2018, Bengkulu City Inflation is 0.79 Percent

Abstract

In December 2018, the City of Bengkulu experienced inflation of 0.79 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 80 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang at 2.09 percent and the lowest inflation in Banda Aceh was 0.02 percent. Deflation occurred in Sorong at -0.15 percent and Kendari at -0.09 percent.

City of Bengkulu inflation in December 2018 occurred in six expenditure groups and one expenditure group experienced deflation. The transportation, communication and financial services expenditure group experienced the highest inflation of 3.87 percent, followed by processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.21 percent, health group by 0.16 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.05 percent, clothing expenditure group by 0.02 percent and education, recreation and sports group by 0.00 percent, and foodstuffs group experienced a deflation of -0.08 percent.

With inflation of 0.79 percent in December 2018, the magnitude of inflation in the calendar year (inflation rate) is 2.35 percent, and also the annual inflation (year on year) is recorded at 2.35 percent.

Of the 23 cities in Sumatra region that monitored the level of inflation, in December 2018 all experienced inflation. With 0.79 percent inflation, Bengkulu ranked 8th.
