Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (FER) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) against the price index paid by farmers (Ib). FER is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. FER also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

Based on the new base year 2018, the Bengkulu Province FER in January 2020 was 116.71, up 3.34 percent compared to the previous month's FER. The increase in FER was due to the Farmer Received Price Index (It) which rose by 4.28 percent, higher than the increase in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib) of 0.91 percent. The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises of Bengkulu Province in January 2020 was 116.10, up 3.54 percent compared to the previous month.
