Abstract

In May 2020, Bengkulu City experienced an inflation of 0.41 percent. Bengkulu City inflation in May 2020 occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: clothing and footwear group of 0.14 percent; health group of 0.08 percent; transportation group by 3.10 percent; recreation, sports and culture group of 0.08 percent; and personal care and other services by 1.33 percent. While the groups experiencing deflation were food, beverages and tobacco by 0.68 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel by 0.04 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.09 percent. While the expenditure groups that looked stable were the information, communication and financial services group; education and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups. With inflation of 0.41 percent in May 2020, The amount of inflation in the calendar year  (inflation rate) of 0.27 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) was recorded at 1.57 percent.
