POOR POPULATION DROP TO 13.56 PERCENT, INFLATION 3.64 PERCENT

In March 2024, the number of poor people (people with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Bengkulu Province reached 13.56 percent (281.36 thousand people), decreasing by 0.48 percentage points compared to March 2023 which was 14.04 percent (288.46 thousand people).

The role of food commodities in the Poverty Line is much greater than the role of non-food commodities. The contribution of the Food Poverty Line to the Poverty Line in March 2024 was recorded at 73.46 percent. This condition experienced an increase of 5.63 percentage points when compared to the conditions in March 2023.

Meanwhile, in June 2024, Bengkulu Province's year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation was 3.64 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 106.72. Bengkulu City's y-on-y inflation was 3.28 percent with a CPI of 106.62, and Muko Muko Regency's y-on-y inflation was 4.79 percent with a CPI of 107.04.
