BPS CONTRIBUTION TO EXTREME POVERTY REDUCTION IN BENGKULU

BPS Bengkulu Province continues to contribute to development by presenting quality data as material for planning. On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the Head of BPS Bengkulu Province, Ir. Win Rizal, ME, was appointed as a resource person at the Coordination Meeting on Extreme Poverty Eradication in Bengkulu Province in 2024.

In his presentation, Win Rizal said that in general extreme poverty in Bengkulu Province has consistently decreased. This is indicated by the continued flattening of the extreme poverty curve in the last 7 years. Where in 2017 extreme poverty was entrenched at 9.19 percent to 2.08 percent in 2023. Judging from the regional conditions, Seluma is the Regency with the highest percentage of extremely poor people in Bengkulu Province, reaching 3.71 percent.

The event, which was attended by the Head of Bappeda from all regencies/cities throughout Bengkulu Province and a number of related stakeholders, aims to improve synergy and collaboration in poverty alleviation in Bengkulu Province. In addition to the Head of BPS Bengkulu Province, the Coordination Meeting also presented the Assistant Deputy for Poverty Alleviation of the Coordinating Ministry for PMK RI and the Head of Bappeda Bengkulu Province as speakers.
