Abstract

In February 2019, the City of Bengkulu experienced a deflation of -0.28 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 69 cities experienced deflation and 13 cities experienced inflation.
The highest deflation occurred in Merauke at -2.11 percent and the lowest deflation in Serang at -0.02 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 2.98 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Kendari at 0.03 percent. The inflation of Bengkulu City in February 2019 occurred in three expenditure groups and four expenditure groups experienced inflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest deflation was the food expenditure group which experienced deflation of -1.53 percent, followed by the health expenditure group with deflation of -0.19 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by -0.01 percent. Whereas the expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the education, recreation and sports expenditure group with inflation of 0.39 percent, then the clothing expenditure group by 0.24 percent, the expenditure group for processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.22 percent and transportation, communication and financial services expenditure group by 0.06 percent.

With this deflation of -0.28 percent in February 2019, the inflation rate for the calendar year (inflation rate) was 0.59 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) was recorded at 2.26 percent.
