The economy of Bengkulu Province in 2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices reached Rp. 72.14 trillion and based on constant prices in 2010 reached Rp. 46.36 trillion.
Bengkulu Province economy in 2019 grew by 4.96 percent, slowing down compared to 2018 which grew 4.99 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the business of providing accommodation and food and drink by 10.10 percent and health services and social activities by 8.73 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the consumption component of LNPRT by 8.83 percent.
Bengkulu Province economy quarter IV-2019 increased by 4.79 percent when compared to quarter IV-2018 (y-on-y). From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the business of providing accommodation and food and drink by 9.70 percent. In terms of expenditure the highest growth was in the household consumption expenditure component of 4.92 percent.
Bengkulu Province economic structure in 2019 is still dominated by agricultural business fields; wholesale and retail trade; and government administration. The magnitude of the roles of these three business fields are respectively, agriculture by 28.14 percent, wholesale and retail trade by 15.12 percent and government administration by 10.04 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, it was dominated by household consumption expenditure components by 63.17 percent.
The economic structure of the island of Sumatra spatially in 2019 is dominated by Sumatra Utara Province by 23.39 percent. While the contribution of Bengkulu Province was the smallest with a magnitude of 2.11 percent.
