Abstract
• In March 2023, the level of income inequality for the population of Bengkulu Province, as measured by the Gini Ratio, was 0.333. This figure increased by 0.018 points when compared to the September 2022 Gini Ratio which was 0.315, the same pattern occurred when compared between March 2023 and March 2022, during this period it experienced an increase of 0.018 points, with the Gini ratio in March 2022 of 0.315.
• The Gini Ratio in urban areas
in March 2023 was recorded at 0.386, an increase of 0.015 when compared to
September 2022 which was 0.371 and an increase of 0.016 points compared to the
Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.370.
• The Gini Ratio in rural areas
in March 2023 was recorded at 0.283, an increase of 0.020 compared to the Gini
Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.264 and an increase of 0.021 compared to
the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.262.
• Based on the World Bank's
measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent
group is 21.20 percent. This means that population spending in March 2023 is in
the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the
figure was recorded at 18.79 percent, which means it belongs to the low
inequality category. Meanwhile for rural areas, the figure was recorded at
23.22 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category.
