Abstract
• In August 2023, year on year
(y-o-y) inflation for Bengkulu City was 3.40 percent with a Consumer Price
Index of 115.46. The highest y-o-y inflation occurred in Manokwari at 6.40
percent with a CPI of 122.04, while the lowest occurred in Jambi at 1.92
percent with a CPI of 116.37.
• Inflation occurred due to price
increases as indicated by an increase in the price index for the expenditure
group, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group, by 1.12 percent; the
clothing and footwear group by 2.36 percent; the housing, water, electricity
and household fuel group by 1.90 percent; equipment, equipment and household
routine maintenance group of 2.33 percent; health group at 3.28 percent;
transportation group by 12.12 percent; the information, communication and
financial services group by 0.45 percent; the recreation, sports and culture
group by 3.12 percent; education group at 1.22 percent; the group providing
food and drink/restaurants by 2.50 percent; and the personal care and other
services group of 1.17 percent.
• For month to month (m-t-m)
inflation, in August 2023 the city of Bengkulu experienced a deflation of 0.07
percent and the year to date (y-t-d) inflation rate for August 2023 was 2.01
percent.
