PODES DATA FOR VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT,
2,385 VILLAGES/SUB-DISTRICT EXPORTS SUPERIOR PRODUCTS ABROAD
Village Potential Data (Podes) produced by BPS, plays an important role in development planning and progress of villages/sub-districts in Indonesia. Currently, Villages/Sub-districts are not only objects of development, but also act as subjects in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 6 of 2014 in conjunction with Law Number 3 of 2024 concerning Villages and the Government's efforts to accelerate village development as stated in the third point of Nawa Cita, namely building Indonesia from the periphery by strengthening regions and villages within the framework of a unitary state.
The results of the 2021 Podes data collection show the economic potential of villages/sub-districts. There are 23,472 villages/sub-districts that have superior product goods and as many as 2,385 villages/sub-districts that export their superior products to other countries (abroad). In addition, the results of the 2021 Podes data collection also show that most of the villages/sub-districts in Indonesia work in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, namely 72,724 villages/sub-districts, 4,450 villages/sub-districts where most of the people work in wholesale/retail trade, and there are 3,151 villages/sub-districts where most of the people work in the processing industry.
In 2024, BPS will again carry out the Podes Data Collection, including in Bengkulu Province. In general, the purpose of the 2024 Podes Data Collection is to produce data for regional development purposes, provide data on regional potential, availability of infrastructure/facilities, and socio-economic conditions in each village/sub-district. To ensure the quality of Podes data, a comprehensive evaluation needs to be carried out. Therefore, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, BPS Bengkulu Province held a Podes Data Collection Evaluation Meeting and also an evaluation of BPS Statistics Love Villages throughout Bengkulu Province. The meeting was officially opened by the Head of BPS Bengkulu Province represented by the Head of General Affairs, Sahranudin, SE., M.Si.
The evaluation activity was then continued with a meeting of BPS Regency/City leaders throughout Bengkulu Province led by the Head of BPS Bengkulu Province, Ir. Win Rizal, ME, in order to follow up on the results of the BPS Rapimkap Se-Indonesia, which among other things maintains a joint commitment to oversee quality and maintain the trust of data users.
